As a registered nurse and artist, I’ve spent years caring for others—listening, comforting, and supporting people through some of their most vulnerable moments. While I love what I do, it can be emotionally demanding, and I realized early on that I needed a way to refill my own cup. That’s when creativity became my self-care practice.
For me, creating is a way to slow down and reconnect with myself. When I pour resin art, arrange pressed flowers, or sketch out a new design, I step into a world where time seems to soften. The worries of the day fade, replaced by the joy of color, texture, and possibility. Each piece I create isn’t just an object—it’s a moment of calm, a reminder to breathe, and an expression of gratitude for beauty in the everyday.
What I’ve learned is that creativity doesn’t have to be “perfect” to be powerful. It’s less about the outcome and more about the process. Some days, it looks like experimenting with new materials. Other days, it’s simply doodling or mixing colors that make me smile. Each act, big or small, gives me a sense of renewal.
Now, through Morning Sunshine Studio, I get to share that sunshine with you. Every tray, bowl, or pendant I design carries with it a little piece of my self-care—a reminder that joy can be found in the making, not just the finished product.
I hope my work inspires you to explore your own creative self-care practice, whether that’s painting, baking, gardening, or journaling. Because when we nurture our creativity, we nurture ourselves. 🌞
